Congratulations to iLCP photographers Thomas D. Mangelsen, Robin Moore, and Florian Schulz
Tom was honored as the 2011 Natures Best Photography Conservation Photographer of the Year at an awards ceremony in Washington D.C. on April 24.
In the same competition, Robin received honors as the SMALL WORLD SPECTACULAR WINNER for his image of a Vine Snake from Choco, Colombia.
Florian was the WILDLIFE WINNER for his Polar Bear Cub image from the Barents Sea, Norway.
In the Nature’s Best Photography, Windland Smith Rice International Awards competition, “the Conservation Photographer of the Year Award was created to recognize a special individual who has used his or her skills as a nature photographer to implement meaningful and measurable conservation efforts that inform and educate the public about environmental concerns and resolution opportunities.”
Tom’s, Robin’s, and Florian’s work will be displayed as part of Nature’s Best Photography Windland Smith Rice International Awards Exhibition. The exhibition is on display in the Special Exhibit Gallery, 2nd Floor, Northeast Wing of the Smithsonian Natural History Museum through January 3, 2013.
