Transforming Indonesia’s Manta Fisheries

iLCP Fellow Shawn Heinrichs writes about his work to save and protect the majestic manta rays of Indonesia, with parnters WildAid, The Manta Trust and Shark Savers.  The creation of the large Raja Ampat manta ray sanctuary in February 2014 brings a lot of hope to this over-hunted animal, but work also needs to be done with the local population to find alternatives to manta hunting for their economic survival.  Read the full article here,on our iLCP National Geographic News Watch blog.
